The Laramie County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO), in collaboration with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), conducted a three-day commercial transport control event targeting trucks that, according to law enforcement, bypass entry points (Ports of Entry, POE) in Wyoming. Sheriff Brian Kozak reported the operation's results in a video message published on February 26, 2026, on the agency's social media page: LaramieCountySO/reels.
The raid simultaneously addresses two sensitive market topics: the discipline of passing POE/weight and document checks on key corridors, and the increasing intersection of road control with the immigration framework, where a traffic stop can result in a person being handed over to federal services.
According to the sheriff, the operation targeted commercial vehicles that "bypass" Wyoming's POEs and violations related to unsafe behavior near trucks. In LCSO's public communication, this is presented as protecting "legal truck drivers" and enhancing overall traffic safety, rather than solely an "immigration" action.
A separate emphasis is on geography. The report mentions three critical freight traffic routes in the region: I‑80, I‑25, and U.S. 85 within Laramie County. For carriers, these are corridors where attempts to "cut" POEs or avoid possible weight/document checks are usually explained by the desire to reduce downtime. At the same time, any increased activity by local law enforcement here quickly changes drivers' behavioral models: routing, departure times, and decisions to enter control points.
The operation was given a catchy internal name: “Truck Around And Find Out.” From the industry's perspective, such a "brand" signals that the agency expects a deterrent effect and public results, rather than quiet, targeted work.

Sheriff Kozak announced the following figures from the three-day event:
A total of 177 vehicle stops were made. Of these, 82 stops were on commercial transport—about 46% of all contacts. The raid resulted in 51 citations/tickets issued (about 29% of stops). Separately, there were 32 arrests of "illegal immigrants," who were then handed over to ICE; this is about 18% of the total stops.
