driver vehicle inspection report
A driver vehicle inspection report (DVIR) is the written end-of-day defect report.
You fill it out after your post-trip inspection and list anything that affects safety or could cause a breakdown. The carrier must fix or clear each item. The next driver reviews it and signs only if defects were listed and certified.
Also called: DVIR, vehicle inspection report, post-trip inspection
Why it matters on the CDL test
